T. Mark Bentley has been writing music, short stories and drawing cartoons since he was six years old. In 2003 he started a musical solo project that evolved into a four-man-band called Brother’s Bentley. After two six song EP's and four years of playing the Nashville bar circuit, he found himself frustrated with his own cryptic lyrics and a lack of a reliable fan base. As Mark's music career fizzled and the blogging movement exploded, he turned his creative efforts to the written word where he could speak more freely and directly on political and social issues that were important to him. Bored with his middle-management-corporate-day-job, Mark found himself leaving his 401k behind to pursue the wealth of a graduate degree in English. Mark is now both a Peer Mentor at MTSU’s Writing Center, an English Instructor, co-leads the Writing Center's Creative Writing Group, and is working on his Master's thesis focusing on multimodality in the composition classroom.
